Introduction to Indigo | Indigo Furniture

To lovingly design and handcraft steadfast furniture, with dedication and pride. A promise to you, and a commitment to your home and the memories you create within it.

Indigo is an exceptional furniture company, based in the heart of the Peak District. Established by old school friends David Castle and Miles Gregory; designed in-house and handcrafted in our own workshops.

Expect striking designs in solid oak, pine and tactile leather.

“Through many generations, my family has been part of the local timber industry. I draw upon many years of experience to create our unique brand of furniture; inspired by memories of my childhood home, and the furniture in it.”

“It’s paramount to Indigo that our handcrafted leather sofas exceed expectation. By making each one in our own workshops we know that quality and comfort is at the foremost of each piece crafted. The Indigo Ten Year Guarantee carried by all leather sofas and armchairs is testament to the passion and knowledge my team and I put into each piece made.”

“We feel honoured to own such lovely furniture and will enjoy using it for many years to come. Everybody who see’s the furniture comments on the quality and you can see the love and attention to detail that has gone into making it.”

Each design is created at Indigo’s head office starting out as a hand-drawn sketch, then drafted using Computer Aided Design.

A prototype is scrutinised for aesthetic balance, usability, form and function.
It can take up to two years for a design to go from an idea to a part of the Indigo range of solid wood furniture.

The distinct Indigo build is crafted in our own workshops using traditional techniques and restored machinery.
Hand built to order.
Signed off by the craftsmen.
Sealed with guarantees of up to 15 years.

“Our furniture looks great and the quality of your products are supported by the friendly and professional service we’ve had at every stage”

“We use oak of European provenance and pine sourced from the vast lands of Canada; legally and sustainably obtained timber. Governed by stringently regulated forest management. For every tree cut down to make Indigo’s Plank and Plank Beam furniture three are planted in its place.”

“We have to say the whole ‘Indigo experience’ has been amazing. Everybody from the whole team; sales, finance, dispatch and the showroom staff (who kindly did specific measurements to ensure we had room!) have all been incredible. We do not say this lightly but you are the best company for customer service we have dealt with, if only all companies had the same ethos.”
