1. Plank, Panel & Junk Wooden Furniture

a. Oker wax finish
You will have received a care kit with your purchase, comprising the following items:
  • 1 x Oker wax
  • 1 x Clear wax
  • 1 x ‘Plank Groove-brush’ (Just for cleaning out the grooves on the planks (NOT to be used for waxing)

Recommendations

Depending on the ambient conditions we would recommend that you apply the Clear Wax once a month for the first 3 months. The wax both cleans and nourishes the timber, helping to build up the stain resistance of the timber without changing the colour. After this an application of wax one every three months will be sufficient to ensure that the timber remains nourished. We use a natural beeswax finish on our products and therefore you MUST NOT use any silicone-based cleaning / polishing products – if used they will adversely affect the wax finish of the furniture.

Apply the wax with a lint free cloth (not a yellow dusting cloth, for example) and work it into the surface, going with the grain where ever possible. Wipe off any excess wax and leave the wax to dry for a few minutes. Take another clean cloth and buff the surface to the desired shine. By buffing the surface, the wax will be absorbed into the timber, which results in a stronger, harder-wearing coating on the furniture. Continued use over time will allow the grain and colouration of the timber to gracefully mellow – your furniture will age beautifully.
The Plank wax is included in your care pack to add depth of colour to your furniture and also to provide easy repair of scratches and knocks. Apply the Plank wax in the same manner as the clear wax. We recommend that you treat your furniture with this wax once every six months. The ‘Plank Groove-brush’ is simply used to remove any build up of dirt from the grooves in the Plank furniture.

b. Limed wax finish
You will have received a care kit with your purchase, comprising the following items:
  • 1 x Clear wax
  • 1 x ‘Plank Groove-brush’ (Just for cleaning out the grooves on the planks (NOT to be used for waxing)

Depending on the ambient conditions we would recommend that you apply the Clear Wax once a month for the first 2 months. The wax both cleans and nourishes the timber, helping to build up the stain resistance of the timber without changing the colour. After this an application of wax once every three to six months will be sufficient to ensure that the timber remains nourished.

2. Oak Block – Indoor

We treat our oak with several coats of clear bees wax. This gives the wood a certain degree of stain resistance. However, if you do mark the wood you should remove any excess fluid immediately and dry off the area. If the mark remains, use some fine glass sandpaper to sand out the mark and then re-treat the area with clear bees wax.

3. Oak Block – Outdoor

No treatment required – movement, silver-colour, etc. Pressure hose-pipe each spring time. Bleach if mould spots.
[Unlike most garden furniture,] Indigo Oak garden furniture can be left outside all year round in sun, rain, frost and snow. There is no need to cover or store the furniture at anytime. There is no need for maintenance.
Cleaning your Indigo Oak garden furniture is also extremely easy. To remove natural build up simply wash down with cold water and a soft cloth or sponge. Alternatively use a normal garden hose to remove any stubborn surface dirt.

4. Vintage Leather

This care kit comprises of the following items:
    1 × 150ml Lazy Leather Care Kit

Recommendations

  • For minor scratches on the surface, use a soft clean cloth to gently buff the scratch. If needed, moisten lightly with protection cream to work scratches out

  • For minor spots and spills, wipe up any excess liquid immediately with a clean absorbent cloth or sponge
  • Do not use soap or soak the stain heavily with water. This may cause more damage than the stain itself

  • For oil based stains wipe of excess with a clean dry cloth, and then leave alone as the spot should dissipate into the leather

  • Further advice and information can be found out www.ittsolutions.net

Try to maintain at least 3cm between your furniture and heating sources.

Do not allow your pets onto your leather sofa. Pets have sharp claws which can scratch the leather. Their saliva is also very harmful to leather. Never use harsh chemicals or paint around your leather sofa. Keep materials like fingernail polish, bleach, nail polish remover, glue and household cleaners away from your leather. Dust your leather as you would other items in the room. Lightly dampen a soft cloth with leather soft cleaner and dust weekly. You may also use a soft brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner. All leather last longer and looks better when preventive maintenance is practiced. As a general rule fully clean your furniture with leather soft cleaner at least every six month to remove dirt as well as the gradual accumulation of body oils and perspiration.

5. Fabric

Please be aware that specific fabrics are discontinued from time to time and thus replacement or extra items may not always be available to match your existing furniture in the future.
Beware of washing cushions only as they may fade slightly and not fully match the body of the furniture.

Fabric Care Tips – Spot Cleaning

  • Treat spills and stains as soon as possible. Gently scrape any soil or mop any liquid from the surface of the fabric.
  • For non oil based stains use warm water and a plain soap (not toilet soaps with optical brighteners). Mix a small amount of soap and warm solution and apply to the stain rubbing gently. Blow dry with a clean towel.
  • Apply cool distilled water and blot dry again, then with a hair dryer working out from the centre of the stain dry quickly to prevent rings forming.
  • For oil based stains following the same basic guideline as above apply a proprietory brand solvent based cleaner and try to clean generally in panels rather than spot cleaning specific areas.
  • Completing the stain removal process.

Once residual stains are removed ,deodorise the affected area to remove any lingering odours.

6. Cushions & padded seats

During the first three months of use filling materials will soften and flatten to some extent and adopt the body shape of the users, this will however stabilize permanently after this initial period. Depending on the type and extent of use the fabric or leather covers may develop comfort creases. The setting may also create slight folds on the covering, which is a completely normal characteristic of the product. Turn loose fabric cushions regularly for equal wear and regularly plump up fixed cushions to maintain their shape and comfort. .
General upholstery fabrics are not guaranteed against wear, shrinkage or colour fading.
