The mighty oak tree, regarded as the “Queen of the forest” – the very epitome of quality.
We only use French Oak from a family owned mill in central France. We plant three trees for every one felled at a FSC approved woodland. The Oak is seasoned / 8-10 years air dried for the indoor Dining table, 3-5 years air dry for the smaller tables. Overtime the wood will continue to move slightly with character enhancing splits appearing, creating an unique table with individual character every time.
Care instructions
We treat our oak with several coats of clear bees-wax, this gives the wood a certain degree of stain resistance, however if you do mark the wood; don’t despair use some fine glass paper to sand the mark out, then wipe on some more wax it’s as easy as that. Clear bees-wax can be purchased from our showroom or most hardware stores.
Indigo’s famous outdoor tables are untreated, so we recommend leaving the oak to weather naturally bearing in mind some of the oldest houses in Britton are oak framed and have been subjected to the harsh British weather for century’s.
