ENVIRONMENT TO RELAX AND BROWSE
Situated in the heart of Matlock’s historic Dale Road, Indigo Furniture’s flagship Derbyshire showroom showcases a carefully curated collection of products from the extensive Indigo range. Peruse two floors of solid wood handcrafted furniture alongside inviting sofas and armchairs in tactile, vintage inspired leather. As well as seeing handcrafted items in context, this historic showroom is a wonderful environment to relax and browse. From cutting-edge technology to exclusive accessories, here’s what awaits inside…
A PIECE OF RETAIL HISTORY
Just like the bespoke furniture within, the Matlock Indigo Furniture showroom is truly one-of-a-kind. As one of the original Boots Pharmacies, you’re stepping into a piece of retail history. Take time to appreciate the Art Deco architecture of the 1920s – the ceiling and storefront windows are a celebration of geometric shapes and elegant design. Even the reclaimed flooring oak under your feet tells a story; it was rescued from Karen Millen’s design HQ. Outside, the distinct indigo paintwork from artisans Farrow & Ball sets us apart.
LIGHT AND SPACIOUS FEEL
Lovingly refurbished by Indigo’s own craftsmen, the showroom is characterised by its light and spacious feel. Look out for the exposed brickwork and distinctive crystal chandeliers encased in wrought iron globes, lending an industrial edge. The stars of the showroom are the products themselves. From rustic solid wooden tables to indulgently comfortable leather sofas, you’ll have the chance to touch and test out their quality for yourself.
“There’s nothing like having a good sit down, to make sure you’re completely happy with what you’re buying. It’s a really nice atmosphere to spend time.”
Natalie, Digital Marketing Coordinator
BRANDED ACCESSORIES AND HOMEWARES
Alongside beautiful furniture, Indigo Furniture’s Matlock showroom stocks an exclusive range of branded accessories and homewares. Explore all two floors to discover Indigo Home Fragrance, Serax Crockery, and the famous Lazy Cow and Lazy Calf doorstops. Or add a cosy feel to your home with luxurious Welsh wool throws and feather-filled cushions.
NO QUERY IS TOO GRAND
Lastly are the fabulous Matlock Indigo Furniture sales team. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff are on hand to talk you through any questions you might have. Whether you want to try out a piece or discuss the aftercare of your purchase, no query is too grand. Many of our sales team have Indigo Furniture in their own homes, so you can ask them for honest advice. Helen Henshaw has a table that’s often used for building LEGO, and she can easily wax away any scratches.
“I’ve worked here since 2004 and Indigo is just part of my family, my husband and son pop in when I’m working and they feel as at home as I do.”
– Clair, Senior Sales at Matlock

HISTORIC DERBYSHIRE TOWN
Once you’ve explored the Old Boots Building, step back outside into the historic Derbyshire town. The Indigo Furniture showroom in Matlock is open seven days a week, so why not make a day of it and visit this weekend? Dale Road is lined with fascinating antique shops – perfect for spotting a new treasure – and the historic spa town is home to a lush green park, complete with a Victorian bandstand. Admire the architecture from its spa town past, or walk the route of the old cable tramway – it was once the steepest tramway in the world. You could even stroll to Matlock Bath, where you can still discover the petrifying well and springs that have attracted people for centuries.
