What’s On | World Book Day

Indigo Leather Bookmark – £5 available at the Indigo Showrooms

World Book Day is held annually on the first Thursday of March. The day aims to promote reading and publishing with a series of events held in libraries across the UK.

At Indigo, we love to settle down with a good book in our Mini Club Chair at the Matlock showroom. Here are our favourite books to celebrate World Book Day.

“My favourite book is actually a historical mystery series by C.J.Sansom. They follow a lawyer through
the 16th Century solving a number of crimes commissioned by historical
names such as Queen Catherine Par, Thomas Cranmer and Thomas Cromwell.

I love a good murder mystery and also historical fiction – these are the perfect combination. A great read but not for the faint hearted!”

– Abi List, Creative Director

“One Day by David Nicholls – it made me laugh and cry and the end was a real shock…also reading lots of Dr Seuss as my 8 year old loves them all.”

– Helen, Sales Advisor

“I love ‘A Prayer For Owen Meany’ by John Irving – I love it because of Owen the main character – it’s wonderful, heart breaking and life affirming.”

– Alice, Marketing Manager

“I think it has to be Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. It’s a fantastic book to lose yourself in, and you can really feel like you are there with him on a truly amazing journey. It is a very vivid account of a very different way of life!”

– John Gabbard, Sales Advisor

“The David Beckham Autobiography believe it or not….. and who wouldn’t want him to be the last thing on anyone’s mind before you close your eyes!!”

– Ali, Sales Advisor
