The final wax and buff applied by our finishing team before your delivery will need to acclimatise to the surrounding temperature and humidity of your home for the first few weeks, before it will fully harden.
We recommend you always use a coaster and placemat to protect the surface of dining and coffee tables. Use a rung-out damp cloth to clean the surface; ensuring the surface of the wood is not left damp. We advise you don’t use any chemical based cleaning products.
Featuring The Three Drawer Plank ConsoleCHARACTER OF PINE
Using your Care pack: Clear Wax
Clear wax is provided to nourish the timber and it’s recommended that you use once a month for the first three months to help build up strength and durability. Use a lint free cloth and lightly apply the wax in a circular motion until evenly spread.
Allow to dry for about 30 minutes before gently buffing to a light sheen using the soft brush provided. (This is also great for brushing the crumbs and dust from the grooves of your furniture.) To maintain the warm, rich colour we recommend you use the Clear wax every 3 months.
Use a lint free cloth and apply the wax lightly in a gentle, circular motion until evenly spread. Once dried, buff off any excess wax. Please note that extensive rubbing will create patchiness.
Using your Care pack: Stripped Pine
Mellow any scratches and knocks with the stripped pine wax provided. Areas of constant contact i.e. table tops, coffee tables etc will need to be waxed more frequently. Apply the stripped pine sparingly over the whole plank or panel, not just to the affected area to ensure an even colour. Allow to dry for around 30 minutes then buff off lightly with the soft brush provided.
It is advisable to wax the whole piece of furniture once a year or as needed to maintain the unique patina, again apply sparingly to ensure an even colour. Allow to dry for around 30 minutes then buff off lightly with the soft brush provided.
Solid Oak furniture, unlike veneered Oak has exceptional strength and endurance.
Each panel, plinth and post is machined from one, whole piece of Oak; unlike other furniture on the market, which may be made with several smaller pieces of timber glued together.
The significant weight of Indigo Oak furniture sets it apart in the marketplace.
Featuring The Oak Telephone TableCHARACTER OF OAK
Whilst Oak is extremely resilient we do recommend you always use a coaster and placemat to protect the surface of dining and coffee tables. Use a rung-out damp cloth to clean the surface, ensuring the surface of the wood is not left damp. We advise you don’t use any chemical based cleaning products.
Wood has certain natural characteristics such as shrinkage, swelling, hairline cracks and minor movement due to changes in temperature and humidity. These may appear and disappear with the changing weather conditions.
This will not affect the durability or lifespan of your furniture and normal movement within wood is completely normal. These natural movements are not a structural defect
Using your Care pack: Clear Wax
Clear wax is provided to nourish the timber, cracking and bowing are the natural characteristics of a hardwood. Overtime your Oak furniture will mellow in tone and take on a distinct patina.
It is recommended that you use Clear Wax twice in the first three months to help build up strength and durability on the surface. An application is also advised once every six months, particularly in areas of constant contact such as dining and coffee table tops.
Use a lint free cloth and lightly apply the wax in a circular motion until evenly spread. Allow to dry for around 30 minutes before gently buffing to a light sheen using the soft brush provided. (It’s also ideal to brush the crumbs and dust from the grooves of your furniture.)
During the first few months it will take time to acclimatise to the surrounding temperature and humidity of your home.
Just as in the natural environment, the wood remains sensitive to ambient conditions and will absorb any moisture in the air and expand or contract if the atmosphere is cool and dry. The use of dovetail joints accommodates any movement ensuring the piece remains steadfast and sturdy.
Each step of the design and make process is carried out in meticulous detail. Indigo craftsmen utilise every piece of the leather and craft the upholstery to ensure areas of high contact such as the back and base cushions are finished in the premium part of the hide.
Only full Aniline leather is used, sporting an accented natural grain and soft hand-feel. Indigo’s signature heritage finish leathers; Aged Saddle and Conker Saddle leathers undergo a 21 day process finish and are never skimmed or pressed. Resulting a unique patina and surface interest.
Featuring The Round Arm SofaCHARACTER OF LEATHER
During the final stages of the finishing process a leather protection guard is applied. This finish seals in the composite moisture of each hide ensuring the hand-feel remains soft and supple.
Combined with a regular application of the complimentary leather care spray your piece will be enhanced and protected for many years to come.
PLEASE NOTE: To maintain the lustrous colour of the leather it’s important that your piece is not placed in direct sunlight.
